Join THNK1994 August 25th-27th, 12-6pm, at 2 Rivington Street, for the Museum of Smoking and take a look at some iconic moments in smoking history, get your hands on the coveted Mary-Kate and Ash-Tray, and enjoy portraits of celebrities smoking by Laura Collins.
Installations include:
-Surprisingly well preserved smoking artifacts including an unused marlboro points redemption catalog from 1997, vintage ashtrays from around the world (different defunct hotel-casinos in Las Vegas, bygone NYC restaurants), and more.
-A copy of The Easy Way to Quit Vaping by Alan Carr
-6 Stunning black and white portraits by artist Laura Collins that would make the “smoking lady celebs” subreddit burst into flames.
-Pose in a picture with a giant cigarette.
-A timeline and video installation of some the most important moments in cigarette history from when Katherine Heigl introduced the world to e-cigarettes on David Letterman to when celebrities including Rita Ora and Dakota Johnson smoked in the bathroom of the Met gala.
-Exclusive first access to the highly anticipated re-release of the Mary Kate and Ashtray.
An opening reception will take place Thursday, August 24th, from 6pm-9pm and will feature refreshments from Two Robbers as well as a reveal of the next ashtray designs coming this holiday season from the THNK1994 Ashtray Collection.
